Telling Virtuous and Sinful Stories – Times of Malta Article

Inspired by Giovanni Boccaccio’s Decameron, this promenade performance saw 10 actors recount 10 different stories in various spaces around the theatre building and backstage areas, allowing audience members the unique opportunity of exploring beyond the theatre’s auditorium.

The actors interpreted 20 tales out of the 100 stories that make up the Decameron, divided into two anthologies of 10 stories each – which alternated for every performance. Both anthologies feature a mix of comedy and tragedy, with virtuous and sinful human stories.

The production was designed with social distancing measures in mind, limiting audience members to groups of 6 from the same social bubble; and enforcing various other measures, such as regular hand sanitizing, mask wearing and temperature checks.
